Occupational Classroom Training (OCT) provides eligible individuals with the education and skills needed to prepare for employment in high-demand careers. Through this program, participants may receive financial assistance for approved occupational training programs offered by accredited colleges, universities, career and technical centers, or other eligible training providers.
 

Financial assistance may be available for eligible participants pursuing occupational training in high-demand career fields. Eligible training may include certificate programs, short-term credential programs, programs lasting approximately 9 to 12 months (such as Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) training), associate degree programs, or up to the final two years of a bachelor's degree. Training opportunities are evaluated based on program eligibility, funding availability, and local labor market demand.
 

To participate, individuals must:
•    Be a resident of Pike County.
•    Meet program eligibility requirements.
•    Complete an assessment to determine training needs and career goals.
 

Eligible participants may receive assistance with approved training-related expenses, which may include tuition, books, required supplies, uniforms, tools, licensing or certification fees, and other supportive services, based on individual need and available funding.
 

Throughout the training process, participants receive guidance and support from Workforce & Business Development staff to help them successfully complete their program and transition into employment.
