The Growing Rural Independence Together Through Jobs (GRIT) Project helps youth and adults discover career pathways that lead to long-term success. Designed to strengthen Ohio's workforce and contribute to the economic prosperity of rural communities, the GRIT Project provides individualized career exploration, assessment, and coaching to help participants identify rewarding careers that align with their interests, abilities, and goals.
Participants work one-on-one with a Career Coach to explore career options, develop a personalized career plan, and identify the education, training, and resources needed to achieve meaningful employment. Through the Future Plans Assessment, participants gain valuable insight into their interests, aptitudes, work values, and transferable skills, helping them make informed decisions about the future.
The GRIT Project is a collaborative effort involving schools, nonprofit organizations, treatment and recovery providers, courts, OhioMeansJobs Centers, employers, and other community partners. Together, we are committed to helping individuals overcome barriers, prepare for in-demand careers, and build a stronger future within their communities.
When appropriate, participants may also be referred to other Workforce & Business Development programs, including the SPARK Youth Program, Adult Program, and Transitions Program, where they can receive additional education, training, work experience, and supportive services to help achieve their career goals.
