The Work Experience Program provides eligible individuals with the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on work experience while developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in today's workforce.
 

Designed for individuals who have limited work history, are changing careers, or need additional experience to become competitive in the job market, the program offers temporary, planned work assignments in a real workplace. Participants develop essential workplace skills, explore career interests, and build a stronger résumé while receiving guidance from both the worksite supervisor and Workforce & Business Development staff.
 

To participate, individuals must:
•    Be a resident of Pike County.
•    Meet program eligibility requirements.
•    Complete an assessment to identify employment goals and training needs.
 

Work experience opportunities may be available with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, or private employers, depending on program guidelines and local workforce needs. Placements are designed to provide meaningful work experience that aligns with the participant's career goals and helps prepare them for permanent employment.
 

Throughout the work experience, participants receive ongoing support, career guidance, and regular evaluations to help them develop professional skills and successfully transition into unsubsidized employment. The Work Experience Program serves as a bridge between training and employment, giving participants the practical experience employers value while building a pathway to long-term career success.
